Earlier this month Greenrock Property Management Limited was recognized for "Best Curb Appeal" at the Federation of Rental Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) MAC Awards gala for its recent overhaul of the landscaping and courtyard at Village Green.

The Village Green landscaping project was initially driven by the need to re-waterproof the underground parking garage at the property, but was quickly recognized as an opportunity to enrich the existing courtyard and improve security and accessibility throughout the property. Greenrock partnered with Quinn Design Associates Inc to create a plan which incorporated an infinity edge waterfall and fountain with a dedicated lookout deck as its focal point, flanked by seating walls amidst large green spaces at the heart of the three buildings that make up Village Green.

The project prompted other enhancements on the grounds, which include the addition of a private multi-level dog park using synthetic grass specifically suited for four-legged residents. Small "pet grass" curbs were also placed outside of the side entrance to each building as a convenience to residents just taking their pets out for a quick "bio-break".

Among the other unique features of the newly-upgraded grounds are the curated sculpture installations and the sculpture garden at the north end of the property. The sculptures were strategically placed throughout the property where the public could also view them from the street, while still allowing residents to relax and enjoy them in the privacy of the courtyard.  The sculpture garden creates a more immersive experience in a serene setting, allowing residents to take a pause from their fast-paced lives and forget for a moment about their urban surroundings.

The award was accepted on behalf of the Greenrock team by Justin Taylor, Chief Operating Officer, and Michael Pharant, Vice President Construction and Project Management. The FRPO MAC Awards, which are held annually at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto, recognize excellence in the rental housing industry across its Ontario membership. Greenrock was proud to be short-listed with the other nominees and thrilled to be recognized for its achievement in creating great spaces for people to live and work.
