TORONTO, October 6, 2022 – Greenrock IMPACT is launching a new scholarship partnership, “Greenrock Scholars”, with Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada which will grant two Black Indigenous and Peoples of Colour (BIPOC) youth with $5,000 scholarships for the 2022/2023 school year.

The cost of tuition and living expenses are a major financial barrier to youth currently living in or leaving care, especially for BIPOC students who already face obstacles related to economic and social marginalization. Greenrock IMPACT is committed to celebrating cultural diversity and created this partnership with the Foundation to empower BIPOC youth to thrive academically and progress toward a brighter future.

“Greenrock is thrilled to partner with Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada to support motivated young students in achieving their desire for success. We look forward to learning more about this year’s recipients and how Greenrock Scholars supported their academic goals,” says Barbara Rodgers, Greenrock CEO.

The scholarships will be administered through the Foundation’s Post-Secondary Education Program, which was launched in 1995 to provide youth from care with financial support to access the same educational opportunities as their peers not from care.

Scholarships are awarded through an annual competitive review process and decisions are made by the Foundation’s Scholarship Award Committee using the criteria of financial need, individual attributes, academic achievement, personal contribution, and potential for success.

The next round of Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada’s scholarship applications will open in December 2022 for the academic year beginning in September 2023.
