TORONTO, June 26, 2020 – In recognition of its exceptional customer service and community involvement, Greenrock Real Estate Advisors was announced as a finalist for the 2020 CFAA Rental Housing Provider of the Year Award. The announcement was made at the fifth annual Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations' Rental Housing Awards program, which was broadcasted virtually on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
At this year's celebration, Greenrock was nominated for the 2020 Rental Housing Provider of the Year Award within the category of managing under 7500 residential suites. Greenrock was shortlisted for the award due to great collaboration from its dedicated employees who worked proactively since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to provide immediate financial assistance to our community and valued residents.
Greenrock Real Estate Advisors believes taking steps to support residents and community members during these times of crisis will create a wave of positive ripple effects throughout the GTA not only for the charities that desperately need support but also for the residents financially impacted by the crisis.
As part of Greenrock's COVID-19 response plan, a last month's rent (LMR) assistance program was created whereby Greenrock residents could apply to use their LMR deposit as a credit towards their upcoming rent payments. All rent increase notices were also deferred until after the pandemic is over.
In addition, Greenrock announced a $1.5 Million COVID-19 Relief Fund in March 2020 that dedicated $600,000 in grocery gift cards for Greenrock managed residential suites where each suite received a $100 grocery gift card in April, May, and June.
The remaining $900,000 of the relief fund was donated to over 40 charitable organizations across the GTA and Canada and addressed the following causes: food security, mental health, Indigenous communities, LGBTQ2S communities, senior care, shelters and outreach support, and women's health.
