It's almost time for the Spring H.O.P.E. (Housing Owner and People Everywhere) Food Drive! This annual food drive, now in it's 18th year, will take place on Wednesday April 19th, 2017 with the goal of collecting over 100,000 pounds of nutritious, non-perishable food items to help people in our community going through tough times. Greenrock Property Management has participated in this worthy initiative for years and will proudly do so again in 2017. Join us! For every pound of food collected, Greenrock will match $1.00 in donation to the food bank.
The Spring H.O.P.E. Food Drive is the largest door-to-door food drive in Canada. It is organized by the Greater Toronto Apartment Association (GTAA) in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank, The Mississauga Food Bank and the North York Harvest Food Bank. Greenrock Property Management is proud to join with over 1,000 apartment buildings in the GTA to assist our friends and neighbours who find themselves in need during the lean summer months when food bank shelves start getting light.
Most people who accept support from food banks do so temporarily. They visit the food bank when they need some help, usually for 6 months to a year, often due to illness or loss of employment. Over 30 percent of the recipients of the food collected are children, so please donate all you can to help ensure your neighbours are healthy, happy and well fed.
You can help the Spring H.O.P.E Food Drive reach its goal in a variety of ways. Make an online donation at www.springhopefooddrive.ca, bring food down to your superintendent or site office in advance of the food drive on April 19th, or donate when our building staff and/or volunteers canvass door-to-door through your building. If you will not be at home between 6:30pm and 9pm on Wednesday April 19th, you can leave your donations in a bag outside your door that evening. If you'd like to volunteer to help collect donations in your building on the evening of the drive, please let your Superintendent know.
