The Greenrock Corporate Accounting, Finance and Investment team provides a center of excellence for services in the disciplines of accounting, treasury management, acquisition and disposition transactions, corporate tax, capital management, investment management, risk  management, financial data applications and business solutions for the organization.


Green Group of Companies Inc. is currently recruiting for a Senior Property Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Property Accountant will have solid experience with full cycle accounting, be detailed oriented and have strong analytical and communication skills. Deadline oriented and the ability to manage multiple priorities is a must.

A team player with a positive attitude, the desired candidate will work side by side with a team of finance professionals and operations personnel in the development of their operating budgets, cashflow forecasts, audits, preparation of property financials and all aspects of property accounting.



  • Responsible for full cycle of accounting duties, including bank reconciliations, posting journal entries, capturing accruals and prepayment, expense recoveries, accounts payables/receivables, billing, and intercompany transactions.
  • Analyze rental revenues, recoverable and non-recoverable operating expenses, capital expenditures, leasing costs, etc.
  • Ensure all financial reporting procedures and processes are in accordance with agreed upon compliance with the financial reporting timelines, schedules, and requirements.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure adequacy of cash to cover obligations and efficiency of cash disbursements and investment.


  • Prepare year-end audit packages and entity financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Prepare comprehensive electronic audit working papers (Caseware) for each property and provide a detailed analysis for the Controller and external auditors.
  • Review and analyze financial information and process the information efficiently and accurately and take appropriate actions with minimal supervision to address and resolve matters.
  • Ensure accuracy of recoverable operating costs and tenant-by-tenant recovery schedules, and timely preparation of year-end final CAM invoices for Property Manager and Controller approval.


  • Prepare and analyze the annual budget and coordinate with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy of recovery rates for operating budgets.
  • Consolidate and present the budget results to all stakeholders and explain variances.
  • Post the approved budgets into the accounting system.
  • Maintain and secure all financial and accounting records and files.


  • Relevant post-secondary education such as Degree in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • CPA designation or close to completion.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in a Property Accountant role.
  • Detail oriented, ability to resolve problems, self driven, and a strong work ethic.
  • Well organized and able to multi-task and work with a multi-faceted team and various levels of management.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Yardi Voyager software program.
  • Knowledge of Caseware audit preparation program considered an asset.
